Fully compatible with all non-Chloride industrial UPS systems, the SMC-3P Retrofit is a standalone solution that streamlines the process of upgrading from traditional to SMC batteries.

Controlled by the LYNX touchscreen HMI and with SMC batteries supplied pre-wired in a connectorised cabinet, the SMC-3P Retrofit is engineered to minimise downtime while upgrading and ensure reliable long-term performance.

The SMC-3P Retrofit is controlled by Chloride’s® industry leading touchscreen HMI, LYNX, providing operators with the confidence of accurate and reliable battery management and removing a major barrier in the transition from traditional to clean battery power.

The Chloride® SMC-3P Retrofit is supplied with SMC batteries pre-wired inside the connectorised cabinet. This greatly reduces installation time, minimising disruption for customers when transitioning to SMC batteries and ensures operational redundancy.

Sodium Metal Chloride batteries provide a lifetime of clean energy.

Unlike traditional batteries that require replacement every 5 years, SMC batteries have a life expectancy of 25 years - the same as UPS systems - eliminating the interruption to operations and recurring costs associated with installation of replacement batteries.

  1. No hydrogen emissions and no risk of fire. Battery Rooms not classified as ATEX environments.
  2. No risk to operators when handling. Battery is a completely sealed unit.
  3. No HVAC required. Operating at room temperate, no industrial ventilation or Air Conditioning equipment is required in the Battery Room.
  4. No structural re-enforcement. Considerably lighter and (70%) than traditional batteries, SMC batteries will not require re-enforcement of Battery Room floors.
