Project Implementation
Engineering
The project remained relatively standard compared to our usual projects, despite several requests for modifications after the design phase.
Notable points:
- Client was particularly demanding regarding document approval.
- Very long drawing approval cycles.
- Difficulties in getting the client to accept the costs associated with modifications requested during the design phase.
Timelines
The initial deadline was very tight.
- Planned timeline: 21 weeks
- Actual timeline: 18 weeks
The team therefore delivered ahead of schedule despite the project’s constraints and the client’s requirements.
Transport
- Delivery was made by ship.
Challenges Encountered
- Flooding in Morocco disrupted the shipping phase.
Despite these challenges, the project was delivered within the expected timeframe.
Related Services Sold
In addition to supplying the equipment, several services were sold:
- Commissioning / start-up (installation)
- Spare parts for commissioning
- 2-year maintenance contract
- Extended warranty
Results and Commercial Follow-up
The project was successfully completed and helped strengthen the relationship with the client.
This success led to the award of a second project with the same client, involving a sulfate manufacturing plant in Morocco.
Success
- Deadlines met despite a very ambitious schedule.
- Delivery completed in 18 weeks instead of the planned 21.
- Sale of complementary high-value-added services (commissioning, maintenance, extended warranty).
- Secured an additional project with the same client.
Challenges
- High client requirements.
- Lengthy document approvals.
- Complex discussions regarding design changes.
- Logistical issues related to flooding and maritime transport (rusting of control cabinets).
